Introducing the Onero™ program

Updated: 1 day ago

If you’re concerned about bone health, bone density loss, or the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures, the Onero™ program provides a safe, evidence-based approach backed by clinical research.

What is Onero™?

Onero™ is based on the science of the LIFTMOR trial, a landmark study of high-intensity resistance and impact training (HiRIT) in postmenopausal women with low bone mass (Watson et al., JBMR 2017). Participants completed two supervised 30-minute sessions per week of targeted resistance and impact exercises. It is the only exercise program proven to safely build bone for people with low bone mass.

Evidence from the LIFTMOR trial

Compared with a low-intensity control group, HiRIT participants showed:

  • approximately +2.9% increase in lumbar spine bone mineral density (BMD) vs. a –1.2% change in controls

  • approximately +0.3% increase in femoral neck BMD vs. a –1.9% change in controls

  • increased femoral neck cortical thickness and cross-sectional area, indicating stronger bone geometry (Watson et al., Bone 2019)

  • improved muscle strength, posture, and functional performance

  • high adherence (~92%) with no serious adverse events.

These improvements in bone density and structure are associated with greater bone strength and a reduced estimated fracture risk.

Why Onero™ works

  • Applies mechanical loading shown to stimulate bone remodelling and increase density

  • Combines resistance, weight-bearing, and impact-loading exercises, prescribed and supervised for safety

  • Specifically designed for those with osteopenia or osteoporosis, unlike generic low-impact programs

What to expect

  • Comprehensive initial assessment, including bone health review (if available), mobility, and strength testing

  • Supervised sessions led by qualified physiotherapists

  • A progressive, long-term approach designed to improve and maintain bone strength over time

Who can benefit

  • Adults diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis

  • Individuals seeking to reduce fracture risk through safe, effective training

  • Those aiming to improve strength, balance, posture, and confidence

At our clinic, we deliver the Onero™ program with expertise and care—helping you move confidently and build stronger, more resilient bones for life.

Stronger bones. Lower fracture risk. Proven by research.

Disclaimer:

The Onero™ program is based on the LIFTMOR trial, conducted in postmenopausal women with low bone mass. While the same training principles are being applied more broadly, research in other populations (including men and younger women) is ongoing. Individual results may vary, and participation should always be guided by a qualified health professional.
